Don’t Give Up On Your Springer Yet  –  Available at

Have you ever bought a new springer and expected it to shoot perfectly straight out the box, but were disappointed? In this video my desire is to bring awareness to the responsibilities of the shooter. In the same way airguns can be pellet picky, they can also be hold picky. In this video, I test myself and the Beeman Dual Caliber air rifle. I want to see what hold myself and the air rifle performs best with. I start with shooting straight off the bag, it’s obvious it has a bounce to it, the POI is high right. Next I try the artillery hold which takes some of the bounce out, this time it shot a little lower than off the bag did and still to the right. The last hold I test is what I like to call the powder burner hold, I pull it tight into my shoulder and grip the forearm tightly, not allowing the gun much movement during the shot. Watch the video to see the result.

About Backyard Shooting:

We started the Backyard Shooting (BYS) after a lot of thought and planning. We will be geared towards teaching people of all ages and sexes about airguns, shooting, gun etiquette and lots more. We are aiming this site at people with little to no experience with guns of any kind. We hope to educate others as we are educated ourselves on everything shooting sports related.
